BANGS – The Bangs Dragons chalked up an 11-7 non-district victory over the Gorman Panthers Tuesday night.
The Dragons trailed 3-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning, where they scored eight runs. Gorman closed the gap to 9-6 in the top of the fifth, and 9-7 in the sixth, before Bangs chalked up its final two runs in the home half of the sixth.
Bangs tallied eight hits, drew seven walks and was aided by five Gorman errors.
Ethan Ethridge led the charge for Bangs with three hits followed by Guy Powell – who homered – Skylar Minshew, Hunter Newton, Kenny Cole and Zack Ferguson with one each. Newton’s two RBIs were a team-high trailed by one each from Powell, Ethridge, Ferguson and Hunter Crowell.
On the mound, Ethridge, Cole, Ferguson, Brayden Fields, Skylar Minshew and Kade Minshew combined to allow seven runs – four earned – on five hits with six strikeouts and six walks. The Bangs defense committed four errors.
The Dragons (16-5-2, 6-1) venture to district leader Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
