The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Monday afternoon:
On Saturday, April 8 at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Hendricks Medical Center-Brownwood regarding a report of a suspicious person. The caller (Hendrick Security) reported a white male was parked in the ambulance bay at the ER and the driver appeared to be ‘acting strange’. The caller also reported seeing a pistol in plain view on the center console.
Officer Roberto Rodriguez arrived on scene and observed the grey Dodge pickup parked in the ambulance bay at the ER entrance. As officers approached the pickup, the driver put the vehicle in drive and drove away, prompting officers to initiate a traffic stop a short distance away.
Given the nature of the call, the driver was instructed to exit the vehicle and was detained. A safety check of the vehicle was conducted and a Glock pistol and AR15 style rifle were observed in plain view on the front seat within easy reach of the driver. The driver was identified as 23-year-old Christopher Mikhale Buck of Comanche, Texas.
Officer Rodriguez interviewed the Hendricks Security officer and discovered that Buck was waiving a firearm while in the ER bay area. Buck was also interviewed and readily admitted to possessing a firearm inside his vehicle. In further statements, Buck stated that he was a federal agent and needed to pass on information to a local doctor that he was federal property. Buck believed that the doctor was going to conduct illegal procedures on him which constituted criminal mischief of federal property. Incoherent and confusing statements were also made and documented.
Information was gathered and statements received and at the conclusion of the investigation, Buck was arrested for Disorderly Conduct – Displaying a Firearm and for Unlawful Carrying of Weapons.
Buck was transported to the Brown County Jail without incident.
