The Brown County Retired School Employees Association, formerly known as the Brown County Retired Teacher Assocation, is pleased to announce the winner of the Mary Michaels Memorial Scholarship for 2023 is Kross Kenyon of May. Each year the organization gives $1,000 toward university tuition for selected future educator.
He will graduate from May High School this year and attend Angelo State University. His parents are Bryan and Camilla Kenyon. He plans to major in Kiniesology and to become a teacher and coach. He gives credit to his current history teach and head coach Craig Steele for being an outstanding influence toward this future goal.
Achievements of Kross Kenyon include serving as class president this year and last, being a member of Beta Club, playing football where he was an all-district defensive line and all-region offensive lineman, band and UIL.
He wants to influences his future students to become the best they can be every single day whether at school or outside of the classroom. The organization is excited to present a deserving young man the award and to share in his hope for a bright future for him and the many lives for which he will make a difference.
