The Brown County Museum of History joins the celebration of this bicentennial year of the Texas Rangers by welcoming award-winning author Bob Alexander to Brownwood. Mr. Alexander brings to life the true stories of the Texas Rangers in their early days on the frontier.
Against a backdrop of the Museum’s barbed wire exhibit and the story of the Fence-Cutting range wars which ravaged Texas and Brown County in particular, Mr. Alexander will include details of how the Rangers were a presence in Brownwood in the Old West era, as well as give a look at the Rangers throughout their exciting history.
An 1820s-inspired cocktail hour with special food sampling and drinks will lead up to the program by Mr. Alexander, who has extensively researched the Texas Rangers. Author of 18 highly acclaimed non-fiction books, including “Texas Rangers: Lives, Legend and Legacy”, Bob is a retired Special Agent of the U.S. Treasury Department and a criminal justice instructor. He has served on the board of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco and is a frequent guest speaker.
“Come out for a fun and entertaining evening and celebrate 200 years of the incredible Texas Rangers,” Museum Coordinator Kyndall Howard announces. “We want to honor law enforcement past and present, and especially the Rangers at this event, in their bicentennial year.”
The public is invited, with any Ranger or other law enforcement in uniform, plus a guest, admitted for free. Seating is limited, please call to reserve your place or pre-purchase tickets now. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be served.
The event is Thursday, April 27, 2023 with cocktail hour beginning at 6:00. Seating is limited, tickets are $15 each and available on the Museum’s website: browncountymuseum.org, or call 325-641-1926 for more information.
