BANGS – The Bangs Dragons moved to 5-1 in District 7-2A baseball action and 13-5-2 on the season with a 13-5 home victory over Coleman Friday.
Tied with Coleman at 1 after three innings, the Dragons pulled away with four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Coleman crept within 6-2 after innings and Bangs’ lead was reduced to 6-5 in the top of the sixth, but the Dragons answered with the game’s final seven runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Bangs churned out 10 hits, drew seven walks and was aided by four Coleman errors.
Weston Jundt tallied a team-high three hits with an RBI; Guy Powell and Skylar Minshew both finished with a pair of hits and two RBIs, with Powell launching a home run; Hunter Crowell contributed a hit and a pair of RBIs; Ethan Ethridge doubled; and Hunter Newton singled.
On the mound, Kade Minshew logged the victory as he tossed 5.1 innings and gave up five runs – four earned – on four hits with eight strikeouts. Zack Ferguson hurled 1.2 innings and allowed just one hit while fanning four.
The Dragons host Winters at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
