BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons kept their District 6-2A softball record unblemished Friday as they began the second half of league play with a 16-0 victory over Santa Anna.
Bangs (17-4, 8-0) – which has now outscored its league foes 113-2 – jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one frame against Santa Anna, which grew to 6-0 after two, 11-0 after three, and 16-0 through four innings.
The Lady Dragons finished with eight hits, drew five walks and Santa Anna committed six errors.
Leading the charge offensively for Bangs were Abby Wolf with three home runs and five RBIs; Julianna Ethridge with a home run, double, and three RBIs; Cheyenne Rush and Jaylee Valdez each with a single and a pair of RBIs; and Neeley Bradley also picked up a base hit.
In the circle, Wolf pitched three no-hit innings and struck out six, while Rush gave up one hit in one inning of work.
The Lady Dragons host Menard at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
