The Brown County Sheriff’s Office issued the following press release Wednesday morning:
At approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday the Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a request for assistance from the McCulloch County Sheriff’s Office with a pursuit in bound to Brown County on Hwy 377 South. The vehicle was being pursued by the McCulloch County Sheriff, a Deputy and two DPS Troopers.
Brown County Sheriff Vance Hill was the first county unit to assist. He successfully deployed spike strips south of CR 232 on Highway 377. At least two other Brown County Deputies also successfully spiked the vehicles tires. The suspect slowed to a speed of approximately 75 mph and continued into Brownwood, where the Brownwood Police Department also assisted.
The vehicle eventual lost all the rubber on both front tires but continued to evade authorities. Just north of the Truman Harlow Overpass the suspect vehicle was immobilized due to mechanical failure. The driver, Hunter Wayne Tribbett was taken into custody without further incident.
