Margaret Ann Boyd, age 72, of Brownwood passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, March 25th, 2023. Margaret’s family will host a visitation on Tuesday, March 28th from 6 to 8 pm at Heartland Funeral Home in Early. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, March 29th at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.
Margaret was born on Saturday, June 24, 1950 to Lloyd and Margie Parrent in Snyder, Texas. She graduated from Permian High School and attended the Trinity Valley Bible Baptist College. Margaret married her high school sweetheart, Grady Lee Boyd on February 24, 1968 and they began a life together that blessed them with 3 children.
Margaret had a servant’s heart, volunteering as a Youth Director’s wife, SS Teacher, Choir, Seniors OES and Texas War on Drugs for many schools in Texas. Margaret was a Master Puppeteer and worked with the Puppet Ministries in many churches and schools across Texas. She was the wife of a Minister, Youth director and Associate Pastor for many years. Margaret did countless other services in honor for God as well. She loved and held special in some way everyone she met. Margaret received many certificates and awards during her lifetime, including, Optimist International Youth Appreciation Certificate in 1966, State of Texas (Texans War on Drugs) in 1984, Trinity Christian Academy in 1998, 20 years of Service for TEEA in 2019, TEEA State office Director for District 7 from 2007-2009. She was also the TEEA Newspaper Editor with Grady as Assistant Director at her side.
Margaret loved gardening, enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Most of all she loved serving the Lord. A few of her favorite scriptures were: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13”; “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6”
Margaret is survived by her husband of 55 years Grady Boyd; daughter Tamara Dodson and husband Shane of Amarillo, TX; sons, Robert Boyd of Brownwood, TX, Forrest Boyd and wife BreAnn of Beaumont, TX; along with 7 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Roscoe and Margie Loma Parrent; brother Lloyd Ray Parrent.
