GOLDTHWAITE – The Bangs Dragons rebounded from their first District 7-2A baseball loss with a 17-1 road thrashing of the Goldthwaite Eagles Friday night.
Coming off a 5-0 setback at against Hamilton Tuesday, Bangs (11-5-2, 3-1) scored twice in the first inning, one in the third, and put the game away with 14 runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Bangs collected 11 hits as Guy Powell, Ethan Ethridge and Skylar Minshew recorded two hits and three RBIs apiece. Brayden Fields also finished with two hits, while Kenny Cole, Hunter Newton and Weston Jundt logged one hit and one RBI apiece. Kade Minshew and Dee Klutts added RBIs as well.
On the mound, Fields and Kade Minshew combined to toss a one-hitter over five innings with nine combined strikeouts and four walks surrendered.
The Dragons will host Miles Tuesday.
