The following letter from Cross Plains ISD Superintendent Dade Crosby was posted on the Cross Plains High School Facebook page Tuesday morning:
Late this evening, on Monday, March 20th, administrators of Cross Plains ISD were notified that an individual made a terroristic threat toward three adults who are employees of the school district. Administrators immediately contacted local law enforcement who conducted an investigation leading the individual being arrested at approximately 10 p.m. Monday night.
While the individual has been arrested, and we believe there to be no danger stemming from this incident, CPISD believes it is in the best interest of students and staff to tighten security measures on Tuesday, March 21st through the remainder of the school week.
Parents and guardians always have the option to keep their children at home. The absence of your student(s) will be excused provided the parent/guardian has followed procedures for reporting school absences.
Our priority is, and has always been, the safety and well being of our students and staff. All threats will be investigated.
Thank you for trusting Cross Plains ISD with the safety of your students.
