GRAHAM – The Brownwood Lions placed 4th out of 19 teams and the Lady Lions came in 13th Saturday during the Possum Kingdom Relays, hosted by Graham High School.
The Lions generated 55 points which left them behind Brock (121), Breckenridge (72), and Vernon (64) in the Class 3A-5A division.
The Lady Lions tallied 14 points and finished behind Canyon (169), Holliday (98), Brock (56), Springtown (55), Windthorst (32), Graham (31.5), Jacksboro (30), Clyde (27), Breckenridge (23.5), Peaster (19), Henrietta (17) and Godley (16).
Leading the way for the Lions was Ike Hall, who finished second in both the long jump (20-4.75) and triple jump (42-1), while the 4×100 relay team (43.85) of Jordyn Nickerson, Tyse Savage, Aaron Edmonds and Brayden Daub was also a runner-up.
Coming in third was the 4×200 relay team (1:32.72) of Savage, Daub, Nickerson and Jake Jetton, while fourth place efforts belonged to Edmonds (20-4.25) in the long jump and Savage (11.07) in the 100 meters.
Finishing fifth was Jetton (11.19) in the 100 meters, while Stone Ratliff (43.32) in the 300-meter hurdles placed sixth.
For the Lady Lions, Kate Tindol was the runner-up in the 100 meters (12.97) while Hannah Deen placed third in high jump (5-2) to generate points for the team.
Both the Lions and Lady Lions will be back in action at the Bluebonnet Relays Friday at Gordon Wood Stadium.
