
All three Brown County cities posted nice increases in the sales tax allocations received from the Texas Comptroller’s Office this month. The City of Early led the way with the biggest increase percentage. The year-to-date figures below represent the half-way point of the fiscal year for all three cities. Sales tax allocations received in March reflect retail sales taxes collected in January 2023. Details below:
BROWNWOOD
The City of Brownwood received $518,401, an increase of 8.25% over March 2022. Fiscal year-to-date (October 2022 through March 2023) Brownwood has received $3,575,670, an increase of 7.30% over the previous fiscal year.
The Brownwood Municipal Development District received $171,254 in March, an increase of 8.14% over March 2022. Fiscal year-to-date the BMDD has received $1,161,861, up 6.69%.
EARLY
The City of Early received $235,138, an increase of 28.90% over March 2022. Fiscal year-to-date Early has received $1,390,431, an increase of 22.94% over the previous fiscal year.
The Early Municipal Development District received $77,785, an increase of 29.13% over March 2022. Fiscal year-to-date the EMDD has received $454,907, up 22.78%
BANGS
The City of Bangs received $17,641, an increase of 19.80% over March 2022. Fiscal year-to-date Bangs has received $123,472, an increase of 8.22% over the previous fiscal year.
The Bangs Municipal Development District received $2,614, an increase of 18.33% over March 2022. Fiscal year-to-date the Bangs MDD has received $18,292, up 7.35%.
