BOWIE – The Brownwood Lions pushed their latest win streak to three games as they concluded the Bowie/Boyd tournament with a 6-0 victory over Burkburnett Saturday morning.
Austin Wright tossed a four-hit shutout, tallying a pair of strikeouts over five innings.
Offensively, Brownwood scored once in the first inning, four times in the fourth, and added one final run in the fifth inning.
Hits belonged to Case Markham and David Turner, who both doubled, along with Cole Miller, Campbell Gilmore, and Logan Posey. Turner drove in two runs while Markham, Miller, Posey and Owen Huntsinger collected RBIs.
The Lions (12-4, 1-0) resume District 6-4A action at home against Graham at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
