LLANO – The Early Lady Horns split their first two games at the Llano softball tournament Thursday, defeating Mason, 7-2, before falling to host Llano, 6-0.
In the win over Mason, Early scored twice in the second inning and five times in the fourth.
The Lady Horns tallied five hits and took advantage of four errors. Teagan Lopez led the way with two hits – including a home run – and a pair of RBIs, while Marissa Reedy chipped in a hit and drove in two. Grace LaRue contributed one hit and one RBI, while Aubrey Greaves tacked on a hit and Trinity Torrez drove home a run.
In the circle, LaRue allowed two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and one walk.
Against Llano, the Lady Horns were limited to two hits – singles by Reedy and LaRue – and allowed one run in the first inning, two in the second and three in the third.
Lopez went the distance in the circle and yielded six unearned runs on six hits with five strikeouts and three walks, and the Lady Horn defense committed two errors.
Early (10-3-2) resumes tournament action at 3:30 p.m. Friday against Miles.
