The Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following email Thursday:

Each year, the members of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce elect individuals to serve on the Board of Directors. For the Chamber’s fiscal year, this is an important first step. You may nominate up to three members that are in good standing for consideration to the Board of Directors.

The nominee should be a visionary, familiar with the Chamber organization, and have the time flexibility to fulfill the obligations of a board member. A nomination does not guarantee a position on the ballot.

The person nominated must be willing to:

* Serve a 3-year term on the Board;

* Attend the Annual Board Planning Retreat in March;

* Attend a minimum of 75% of all Chamber Board meetings;

* Attend Chamber events whenever possible.

The Board of the Chamber determines policies and sets goals aimed at improving the

socioeconomic well-being of the community. The Board approves the budget, acts on committee recommendations, directs general operations, and determines the course of action and sets long-term agenda items for the Chamber.

This 2023 Board of Directors Nomination Form must be completed, SIGNED, and returned and/or postmarked by the close of business on March 10 by mail to Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 880, Brownwood, Texas 76804, or email to [email protected].
