Angerstein leads way for HPU men’s golf at UT-Dallas tournament

KINGWOOD – The Howard Payne University men’s golf team finished ninth overall at the Lidlifter at the Clubs of Kingwood hosted by the University of Texas at Dallas this week.

The Yellow Jackets as a team finished ninth overall shooting a 637 (318-319) over the two rounds.

Jake Angerstein led the Jackets finishing tied for 14th overall with a 152 (74-78). Angerstein was 6th (4.75)(-2) in Par 5 scoring in the tournament.

Kyle Anderson finished T-37th with a 159 (77-82). Harrison Hopson finished T-39th with a 160 (82-78).

Kaleb Brown was T-45th overall with a 163 (83-80). Brady Nelson shot a 164 (84-80) to finish T-47th and Lucas Linkade was 55th with a 167 (86-81).

Cole Hermsmeyer and Evan Joseph finished 64th (182) and 65th (185) respectively.

The Yellow Jackets will compete next on March 6-7 at The Whitney at the White Bluff Golf Resort hosted by the University of Dallas.
