Start your spring with a gallery stroll around the Brownwood Art Center at 215 Fisk. Over 30 artists will be exhibiting their paintings, photography, textiles, ceramics, wood work, and more. The show opens with a reception and refreshments this Thursday, March 2, from 5-7 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
“We want everyone to know about our First Thursday receptions, so they get used to visiting the Art Center,” says Daniel Graham, the Gallery Guy. “We change exhibits every month, so there’s always something new and different on display.”
Several groups meet regularly at the Art Center, including Fiber and Textile Artists, Photographers, People Painters, and an Independent Study group. There’s also a Drum Circle on Fridays from 4-6 pm.
The Brownwood Art Association is a non-profit organization, largely supported by annual dues paid by its members. “Like most small non-profits, we also find grants, hold fundraisers, and always need volunteers,” Graham adds.
Regular gallery hours are 2-6 pm, weekdays. For more information, call 641-2916, or find the Brownwood Art Association on Facebook.
