The Early Police Department posted the following information on Facebook Friday morning:
On 02/21/2023 Early Police Department and Brown County Sheriff Office narcotics investigator worked together in the apprehension of a subject selling methamphetamines in the Brownwood & Early area. The suspect vehicle was initially observed behind the mall and was stopped on a traffic violation in the 800 block of Early Blvd. When officers approached the vehicle, they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A record check on the driver, Jeremy Phillip Whitley, 44-year-old from Kansas City Missouri indicated a warrant from mills county. Whitley was arrested for the outstanding warrants. The car was searched due to the smell of marijuana, officers located a bag of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and packaging for marijuana and methamphetamines. Officers also located a quantity of methamphetamines on Whitley’s person when they arrived at the jail where Whitley attempted to destroy the evidence and Officers located Methamphetamines in Whitley’s shoe.
Whitley was charged with Manufacture and Delivery of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamines) 1st degree felony, Possession of Marijuana – State Jail felony, Tamper with evidence – 3rd Degree felony, prohibited substance in correctional facility – 3rd degree felony, and the Mills County warrant for FTA – driving with suspended license.
* Early Police Department responded to the 100 block of Meadow Lane regarding a domestic disturbance. 48-year-old Heidi Kristine Schulze of Early was arrested and taken to Brown County Jail for Continuous Violence against the family.
* Early PD officers responded to an accident in the 1200 Blk of CC Woodson. Just prior to the accident the driver of a white Chevrolet pickup walked over to the motel and went into a room. An officer went and knocked on the door and spoke with the individual who appeared intoxicated. The individual was identified by occupants of the 2nd vehicle. The driver Gage Reed Morrow failed a field sobriety test that was provided by the officer. Morrow also consented to a blood test and was later booked into the Brown County Jail for DWI.
