A four-day trial in 35th District Court at the Brown County Courthouse of a former Aldersgate employee indicted for five counts of aggravated sexual assault against two mentally disabled female residents ended Friday afternoon in a mistrial when the 12-person jury could not reach a unanimous verdict.

Marshall Thornhill, former director of development at Aldersgate Enrichment Center in Early, was indicted by a Brown County grand jury in January 2020 after an investigation into the accusations was concluded in September 2019.
