Three Brownwood Lions were selected to the Padilla Poll Coaches Class 4A Division I All-State Football, released earlier this week.
Landing on the first-team defense was senior linebacker Chance Jones, while second-team choices included senior Jason Jackson at receiver and junior Quinten McCarty along the defensive line.
Jones was named the MVP of District 2-4A Division I as he tallied 123 tackles, 5 sacks, 1 for loss, 1 interception, and 1 punt block from his linebacker position.
Jackson, who saw limited action due to a broken bone in his leg, still finished with 20 receptions for 419 yards and nine touchdowns and earned first-team all-disrict recognition.
McCarty, the lone returnee for 2023 on the list for Brownwood, amassed logged 128 tackles, 17 for loss, 2 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, and 1 punt block en route to earning 2-4A Division I Defensive MVP honors.
The Lions finished the 2022 campaign with a 10-3 record, their first district title since 2010, and earned bi-district and area crowns as well.
