STEPHENVILLE – Coming off back-to-back District 6-4A victories, the Brownwood Lady Lions were unable to hold on to that momentum as the No. 8 Stephenville Honeybees dished out a 50-17 defeat Tuesday night.
The Lady Lions (15-16, 2-2) struggled mightily on the offensive end, mustering just three first-half points while shooting 21 percent (6 of 29) from the floor, 12 percent (2 of 16) from the three-point arc and 30 percent (3 of 10) from the free throw line for the game.
Brownwood, which also committed 24 turnovers, received five points each from Hannah Deen and Mady Pyle, four from Icess Hall and three from Kate Tindol.
The Lady Lions are off Friday then open the second half of district action Tuesday at No. 1 Glen Rose, which knocked off Brownwood in the league opener, 56-22, on Jan. 6.
