MILLSAP – The Early Longhorns notched their first District 8-3A basketball victory of the season Friday night, picking up a 55-35 win at Millsap.
The Longhorns (10-10, 1-2) led Millsap 17-9 after one quarter, 32-19 at halftime, and 43-31 through three periods.
Jeremy Brown sparked Early with 16 points followed by Kaleb Hoffman with 11, John Hill with eight, Colten Allen with six, and John-Stewart Gordon with five points.
Early will host Breckenridge at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

May Lady Tigers 52, Rising Star 22
MAY – The May Lady Tigers kicked off District 13-A basketball action with a 52-22 triumph over Rising Star.
May (14-9, 1-0) led 10-3 after one quarter, 18-7 at halftime, and 35-10 through three periods.
Mia Musick scored a team-high 13 points for the Lady Tigers, who visit Baird at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

May Tigers 50, Bluff Dale 42
MAY – The May Tigers chalked up a 50-42 non-district home victory over Bluff Dale Friday night to improve to 14-4 on the season.
The Tigers led 8-5 after one quarter, 28-20 at halftime, and 44-32 through three periods.
Luke McKenzie and Braden Steele paced May with 11 points apiece.
The Tigers are back in action at Santo at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Millsap 69, Early Lady Horns 32
MILLSAP – The Early Lady Horns slipped to 0-5 in District 8-3A action with a 69-32 road loss at Millsap Friday night.
Early received 11 points from Jenna Hataway, seven from Jodi Lykes, six from Averey Horton, three from Madison Torrez, and two each from Dakota Barksdale and Lindsey Bastard.
The Lady Horns will host Breckenridge at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Miles 45, Bangs Lady Dragons 44
BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons dropped a 45-44 decision at the buzzer to Miles in the District 8-2A opener for both teams Friday night.
Tied at 18 after one quarter, the Lady Dragons (8-14, 0-1) trailed 18-13 after one quarter and 26-22 at halftime, but carried 38-31 lead into the fourth period.
Kasey Solis sparked the Lady Dragons with 21 points trailed by Jadyn Miller with 10, Neeley Bradley with eight and Joey Newton with five points.
Bangs visits Winters at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
