Ten local six-man standouts were named to the recently released Texas Six-Man Coaches Association all-state football teams.
In Class A Division I, May’s Damian Salinas was tabbed a first-team linebacker, Bryson Guerrero earned second-team kicker honors, and Braden Steele received honorable mention in the secondary.
In the Class 2A Division II ranks, Richland Springs’ Keston Lusty was selected first-team fullback. Receiving honorable mention were Rising Star quarterback Jake Bell, Zephyr running back Jayden Millican, Zephyr special teams player Jacob Nixon, Rising Star defensive lineman Dakota Higgins, Blanket linebacker Brayden Day, and Zephyr safety Karsen Floyd.
Two Brown County student-athletes earned Newcomer of the Year honors in their respect regions – May’s Ben Harrell in Division I Region IV and Zephyr’s Tripp Ballard in Division II Region IV.
