MAY – The May Lady Tigers rallied past the Early Lady Horns for a 32-30 victory Friday night in the championship game of the May basketball tournament.
Tied at 11 after on quarter, May trailed Early by a 22-13 count at halftime and 29-25 through three periods, and outscored the Lady Horns 7-1 over the final eight minutes.
All-tournament team member Jordyn Gerhardt led May with 14 points and Kenleigh Williford added nine. Mia Musick was also named all-tournament for May.
Early received 11 points from Madison Torrez and eight from Jodi Lykes.
The Lady Tigers will venture to Abilene Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Lady Horns 32, Lometa 14
Lady Horns 43, Albany 36
The Early Lady Horns advanced to the championship game of the May tournament by defeating Lometa, 32-14, and Albany, 43-36.
In the victory over Lometa, Madison Torrez led the way with 10 points trailed by Caroline Welker with six, Trinity Torrez with five, Jenna Hataway with three, and Dakota Barksdale, Jodi Lykes and Averey Horton with two points apiece.
Versus Albany, Lykes posted a team-best 15 points followed by Madison Torrez with nine, Horton with eight, Hataway and Welker with four each, and Barksdale with three points.
The Lady Horns resume District 8-3A action at 6 p.m. Tuesday as they host Peaster.

Benjamin 53, May Tigers 44
MAY – The May Tigers fell short in their bid to win their tournament championship, dropping a 53-44 decision to Benjamin Friday night.
May (13-3) trailed 12-10 after one quarter, led 25-21 at halftime, but fell in a 44-35 hole through three periods.
Braden Steele led the Tigers with 18 points trailed by Luke McKenzie with nine and Zach Martin with eight.
The Tigers will visit Abilene Christian at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
