BROOKESMITH – The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class A No. 13 Brookesmith Lady Mustangs improved to 14-4 on the season with a 34-15 victory over Moran Friday afternoon.
Brookesmith led 9-2 after one quarter, 21-7 at halftime, and 27-9 through three periods.
Sharon Beth Bradley and Mya Richards paced Brookesmith with nine points each trailed by Nevaeh Neith with eight, Harley Gilliam with six, and Elva Garay with two points.
The Lady Mustangs next travel to Winters for a 1 p.m. Monday contest.

Brookesmith Mustangs 46, Moran 26
BROOKESMITH – The Brookesmith Mustangs moved to 8-7 on the year with a 46-26 home triumph over Moran Friday afternoon.
The Mustangs grabbed a 19-1 lead after one period which stood at 26-7 at halftime and 36-19 after three frames.
Trey Toft poured in a team-best 10 points trailed by Nick Salazar with seven, Adyn Ribble, Jerry Petross and Landon Slayton with six apiece, and Vegas Gilliam with two points.
The Mustangs venture to Winters at 2:30 p.m. Monday.

May Lady Tigers 25, Cherokee 20
MAY – The May Lady Tigers evened their season record at 9-9 with a 25-20 home victory over Cherokee Friday.
The Lady Tigers led 4-3 after one quarter, 9-3 at halftime, and 20-12 through three periods.
Jordyn Gerhardt was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers with 14 points.
May is off until Dec. 28 when it hosts its own three-day tournament.

May Tigers 39, Cherokee 34
MAY – The May Tigers stand at 11-2 on the season following Friday night’s 39-34 home triumph over Cherokee.
The Tigers were in front 14-8 after one quarter, 25-17 at halftime, and 33-22 through three frames.
Zach Martin tallied 14 points for the Tigers and Bryson Guerrero chipped in eight.
May is off until Dec. 28 when it hosts its own three-day tournament.

Dublin 58, Early Lady Horns 40
DUBLIN – The Early Lady Horns dipped to 0-2 in District 8-3A girls basketball action with a 58-40 road loss at the hands of Dublin Friday.
The Lady Horns and Longhorns will both host Brock in district action beginning at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Hamilton 62, Bangs Dragons 39
HAMILTON – Plagued by 27 turnover and 6 of 25 shooting from the free throw line, the Bangs Dragons suffered a 62-39 loss to Hamilton Friday in their final game prior to the start of District 8-2A action.
Guy Funk led Bangs with 16 points trailed by Guy Powell with nine, Zack Ferguson with six, and Weston Jundt and Hunter Newton with three apiece.
The Dragons’ next game is Jan. 13 at home against Coleman in the District 8-2A opener.
