DUBLIN – The Brownwood Lions evened their season record at 2-2 as they opened the Dublin tournament Thursday with a 78-58 victory over Goldthwaite.
Fresh off their first victory of the season over Jim Ned, 77-63, Tuesday night, the Lions led Goldthwaite 14-13 after one quarter, 32-27 at halftime, and 58-38 through three periods.
Hayden Noe led Brownwood with 13 points followed by Ryder Lancaster with 10, Thad Hinds from nine, Luke Gray and Morsello Hooker with eight apiece, Caleb Clawson and Ike Hall with seven each, Hayden Proffitt and Tristan Salinas with six apiece, and Jason Jackson and Trent Loftin with two points each.
Jack Carroll paced Goldthwaite with 20 points trailed by Collin Gardner with 12 and Luke Sanderson with 11.
The Lions are back in action at noon Friday as they face host tournament host Dublin, which handed Brownwood a 103-58 defeat in the season opener.
