The Howard Payne University men’s basketball team connected on thirteen three-pointers in an 85-81 loss at Schreiner University Sunday afternoon in non-conference action
Howard Payne hit 13 three-pointers in the game led by Myles Brown’s five and Jerren Godfrey’s four.
Down 36-32 at the break, the Yellow Jackets had opportunities down the stretch to take the to tie the game up but Schreiner would go 9 of 10 at the free-throw line in the final minute to secure the game 85-81.
Myles Brown led HPU with 19 points sparked by 5 of 8 three-point shooting. Jerren Godfrey followed with 17 points off the bench, he was 4 of 8 from behind the arc.
Schreiner was led by Ross Kamden with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
Howard Payne stands at 2-3 overall and Schreiner improves to 6-1 on the year. The Yellow Jackets will travel to Arlington, Texas on Monday to take on D-I UT-Arlington in an exhibition game starting at 7:00 pm.
