DUBLIN – Playing in their first contest of the season, with at least seven members of the roster still competing in football, the Brownwood Lions were dealt a season-opening 103-58 loss by Class 3A Dublin Tuesday night.
The Lions trailed Dublin 23-9 after one quarter, 53-22 at halftime, and 73-45 through three quarters.
Luke Gray led Brownwood with 12 points followed by Gage Sparks with nine, Hayden Proffitt and Austin Pittman with five apiece, Caleb Clawson, Ryder Lancaster and Sam Bruton with three each, Josh Diaz with two, and Noah Pyle with one point.
Brownwood (0-1) will return to the court at 2 p.m. Monday in Brady.
