GRAPE CREEK – The Bangs Lady Dragons leveled their record at 2-2 under first-year head coach Chesney Neely with a 34-27 road victory over Grape Creek Tuesday night.
Bangs (2-2) trailed 6-3 after one quarter and 14-12 at halftime, but opened a 27-21 third-quarter lead it carried into the final eight minutes.
Neeley Bradley poured in a team-best 10 points for the Lady Dragons followed by nine from Jadyn Miller, and five each from Raylee Hutchins, Kasey Solis and Joey Newton.
The Lady Dragons host their own tournament Thursday through Saturday.

Brookesmith Lady Mustangs 30, Zephyr Lady Bulldogs 29
BROOKESMITH – The Brookesmith Lady Mustangs improved to 4-0 on the season as they fought from behind to knock off the Zephyr Lady Bulldogs, 30-29, Tuesday night.
Zephyr jumped out to a 14-5 lead after one quarter, was in front 20-11 at halftime, and carried a 24-19 advantage into the final stanza.
The Lady Mustangs’ rally was fueled by Elida Uvalle with eight points, Sharon Beth Bradley and Nevaeh Neith with six each, and Bailey Mendieta, Harley Gilliam, Mya Richards, Emma Slayton, and Ava Hathcock with two points apiece.

The Lady Mustangs will compete in the Abilene TLCA tournament over the weekend.

Brookesmith Mustangs 27, Zephyr Bulldogs 22
BROOKESMITH – The Brookesmith Mustangs kicked off their 2022-23 basketball season with a 27-22 home win over the Brown County rival Zephyr Bulldogs Tuesday.
Trailing 9-8 after one quarter, Brookesmith (1-0) opened a 14-10 halftime lead that increased to 21-15 through three periods.
Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Trey Toft with 16 points, Landon Slayton with four, Adyn Ribble with three, and Brennan Mendieta and Vegas Gilliam with two points apiece.
