Senior Brownwood Lionettes captain Jensyn Evans and sophomore Ella Locker are already busy preparing for the big day. They auditioned at Drill Team Camp in June and were selected. They will be performing with the Spirit of America Dance Stars, a large group of performers from studios and school teams throughout the US.
The girls only received the choreography at the end of October and they’re expected to have it learned and cleaned up by the time that they head to New York this Saturday, November 19th. The dancers will spend six days preparing for the parade in the big apple and will be working with nationally known choreographers leading up to the day of the parade.
The group will then march the 2.5 mile parade route and perform at Herald Square in front of the Macy’s department store where they will be performing to “Run Run Rudolph!”
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air nationwide on NBC and stream on Peacock, on Thursday, Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
