The Comanche Indians and Coleman Bluecats extended their seasons to a 12th game, while the Blanket Tigers, Rising Star Wildcats and Cross Plains Buffaloes witnessed their campaigns come to an end in the opening round of the postseason.
Comanche 69, Henrietta 27
WEATHERFORD – The Comanche Indians picked up their 10th victory of the season and a Class 3A Division II Region II bi-district championship with a 69-27 victory over Henrietta here Thursday night.
District 5-3A Division II champion Comanche (10-1) racked up 617 yards of total offense – 369 on the ground and 248 through the air.
Quarterback Layden Welch completed 11 of 16 passes for 248 yards and five touchdowns, while rushing for 65 yards and two more scores.
Sawyer Wilkerson finished with 295 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, and also caught a 25-yard scoring reception.
Kyler Beaty hauled in four receptions for 121 yards and scored twice, while Miguel Martinez pulled down four catches for 56 yards and crossed the goal line twice.
Defensively for the Indians, Israel Medrano and Ezequiel Medrano led the way with 13 tackles apiece against District 6 fourth-seed Henrietta (6-5), trailed by Easton Gonzalez with 10, Welch with nine, Martinez with seven, and Beaty and Ayden Fishback with six takedowns apiece.
Next week, Comanche face Bells (9-2) – which defeated Blooming Grove (7-2) by a 42-13 count Thursday night – in area round action at 7 p.m. Thursday in Springtown.

Coleman 46, Alvord 7
FORT WORTH – The Coleman Bluecats scored all their points in the first half as they cruised to a 46-7 Class 2A Division I Region II bi-district victory over Alvord Thursday night at Fort Worth Castleberry High School.
District 5-2A Division I runner-up and 10th-ranked Coleman (8-2) generated 446 yards of total offense – 258 rushing and 188 passing – while limiting District 6 third seed Alvord (6-4) to 137 yards – 85 on the ground and 52 through the air – with five takeaways.
Bluecat quarterback Jadin Jackson connected on 7 of 8 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 60 additional yards. Leading receivers were Braxton Smith with three grabs for 50 yards, Hagen Cavanaugh with two for 66 yards and a touchdown, and Keaton Beets with a 48-yard scoring catch.
Ryland Gentry finished with two touchdowns and 36 yards on the ground, Blaine Bouldin rumbled for a 67-yard score, Brayden Torres chipped in 31 yards, Dayden Hunter contributed 28 yards, Skylar Clark tacked on 24, and Anthony Espitia produced 12 yards rushing.
Smith tacked on a 23-yard field goal to the Bluecats’ scoring tally as well.
Next week, Coleman will face Harris Ratings Weekly No. 3 Crawford (11-0) – which hammered Kerens (3-8) by a 66-7 count Friday night – in area round action at 7 p.m. Friday in Weatherford.

Cherokee 52, Blanket 6
SAN SABA – The District 15-A Division II runner-up Blanket Tigers had their season ended by the District 16 champion and third-ranked Cherokee Indians, 52-6, Friday night.
The Tigers finished with an 8-3 record on the season with Cherokee (10-0) moves on to face Blackwell (7-4) in the Class A Division II Region IV semifinals.

Blackwell 68, Rising Star 40
TRENT – The District 14-A Division II champion Rising Star Wildcats were knocked off in Region IV bi-district action by the District 13 runner-up Blackwell Hornets, 68-40, here Thursday night.
Rising Star (9-2) finished with 383 yards of total offense – 233 passing and three touchdowns, and 148 rushing and three more scores.
Through the air, Dathon Morris was 6 of 7 for 107 yards with two scoring tosses and Jake Bell was 8 of 16 for 112 yards and a touchdown. Leading receivers were Blake Wilson with three grabs for 42 yards and a touchdown, Anthony Pollard with two catches for 52 yards with a trip to the end zone, and Dakota Higgins collected two receptions for 46 yards and crossed the goal line once.
On the ground, Wilson finished with 61 yards and a touchdown, Pollard added 28 yards, Tristan Jackson tallied 22 yards, and Morris contributed 20 yards and two touchdowns.
Bell led the way defensively with nine tackles and an interception, and Jackson finished with eight tackles.
Blackwell (7-4) will square off with District 16 champion Cherokee (10-0) next week.

Wink 60, Cross Plains 0
BIG SPRING – The District 5-2A Division II champion and fourth-ranked Wink Wildcats handed the District 6-2A Division II fourth-seed Cross Plains Buffaloes a season-ending 60-0 loss in bi-district action here Thursday night.
Wink (11-0) held Cross Plains (7-4) to 128 yards of total offense and six first downs, with 109 of those yards coming from the arm of Buffalo quarterback Kade Purvis.
Purvis completed 9 of 19 passes with one interception as leading receivers included Asher Moses with three catches for 23 yards, Noah Moses with two for 17, Ryder Reed with two for 11 and Dusty Wyatt with a 58-yard grab.
On the ground, Cross Plains generated just 19 yards on 19 carries.
The Wildcats finished with 499 total yards – 261 passing and 238 rushing – with no turnovers.
At halftime, Wink had reached the end zone on all seven possessions and churned out 354 yards and 54 points, despite running just 11 plays. Cross Plains mustered just one first down and 33 total yards in the first two quarters.
Wink advances to face Santo (10-1) in the Class 2A Division II Region II area round next week.
