Early High School’s Musical, Moana Jr. will be performed this weekend. The show is in Mims Auditorium at Howard Payne University. There are only two performances. One is this Saturday, November 12th at 7:00 pm. The other is this Sunday, November 13th at 2:30 pm. Admission is by donation.
“Moana Jr. is about a young girl who is trying to save her island and she is also, in the process, learning about herself and her heritage. So, it’s a story about courage, and about working together, and about believing in yourself,” said Caitlyn Tidwell, Early High School’s Theatre Director.
“Our choreographers have all been students. We have a head student choreographer and two assistants. Dr. Jill Underwood is directing the music, and that’s an advantage we haven’t had before. She’s been wonderful. Two of our students have served as the role coaches of the rest of the cast and gotten them to learn to sing better and make rhythms a little easier. It’s been a really collaborative process with the students. They’ve had a bigger hand in it than usual and it’s been great. Everybody is really talented and really exciting,” said Tidwell.
