Taste of China, a full Chinese buffet, will open its doors to Brown County and the surrounding area on Monday, Nov. 7. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Manager Alan Zheng said in a June interview with BrownwoodNews.com, “We worked at East Palace for a long time before it closed. We didn’t want to leave Brownwood and since there’s not a Chinese buffet now, we decided to try our own business and go from there.”
Taste of China is owned by Xiao Yong Yang, according to Zheng, and will feature a blend of different types of Asian food items.
“We learned some recipes from East Palace but we’ve also sent out chefs to different Chinese buffets and restaurant to give us the best quality of food,” Zheng said. “The menu is a little bit of a secret, but we’re thinking about incorporating more things like noodles, and maybe have rotating buffets each night.”
The inside of the building has been renovated to meet health and safety codes, as well as provide an updated modern feel.
