The latest round of Texas high school football rankings have been revealed, and the District 2 champion Brownwood Lions have peaked at No. 6 in the Class 4A Division I Padilla Poll this week.
The Padilla Poll began in 1992 and is a fully digital high school football polling and news source.
The rest of the Padilla Poll’s 4A Division I Top 10 featured No. 1 Anna, No. 2 Boerne, No. 3 China Spring, No. 4 Corpus Christi Calallen, No. 5 Lumberton, No. 7 Celina, No. 8 Tyler Chapel Hill, No. 9 Kaufman, and No. 10 El Campo.
The second-highest ranked Region I team is Decatur at No. 12, one spot in front of No. 13 Stephenville, fresh off its second straight defeat.
The Lions Monday were ranked No. 9 by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football and No. 10 by Harris Ratings Weekly on Tuesday.
Brownwood (8-2) will begin its 49th postseason run seeking its 73rd playoff victory overall against El Paso Irvin (2-7) at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at Odessa’s Ratliff Stadium.
