The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of October 26:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
SLOW. Water slightly stained; 68-72 degrees; 7.89 feet low. Bass excellent to 6.40 pounds on topwaters lures early and late on flats in 1-5 feet of water. Squarebill crankbaits, glide baits and shaky heads around docks with brush 5-15 of water. Crappie to 1.25 pound are good on minnows and jigs suspended under docks, or jigs on brush piles. White bass are good on crankbaits and jigs under the lights. Catfish are slow on cut bait and perch.
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water stained; 79 degrees; 7.89 feet low. Crappie and bass are biting on brush piles with minnows and worms. Channel catfish are good on live and cut perch in shallow water. Report by Jason Miller, Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
FAIR. Slightly stained; 70 degrees; 5.64 feet low. Fishing patterns are similar, look for fish to move shallower chasing bait as the water temperature declines. Crappie are fair with jigs or minnows on brush piles. Hybrid striped bass are good on slabs moving quickly over the main lake chasing bait balls. Bass are fair on green pumpkin jigs, black and blue jigs, shad color swim jigs.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
GREAT. Water stained; 74 degrees; 22.73 feet low. White bass are good with live bait and crankbaits. Crappie good with jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass are slow to good. Catfish are good on prepared baits, cut bait and live bait. Report by Concho Park and Marina.
LAKE PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 74 degrees; 8.78 feet low. Cooler temperatures have catfish starting to group up and the bite has improved from weeks past. Another couple weeks, and the bite will be even better. Blue catfish up to 24 pounds are biting on cut shad in 10-18 feet of water. Marking large groups along ledges and transitions.
