MAY – The sixmanfootball.com Class A Division I May Tigers remained undefeated with a 60-14 victory over Santa Anna Friday night in District 14 action.
May (8-0, 3-0) produced 281 yards of total offense – 211 rushing and 70 passing – against the Santa Anna (3-5, 0-2) defense.
Braden Steele rushed six times for 140 yards with four touchdowns, Landon Cheatham tacked on five carries for 64 yards and and two trips to the end zone, and Hagan Hester ran for 7 yards on one carry.
Through the air, Luke McKenzie connected on 2 of 4 pass attempts for 70 yards with a pair of touchdowns – 42 yards to Steele and 28 yards to Wyatt Hardy.
Defensive standouts were Steele (11 tackles), Kross Kenyon (9 tackles, a fumble recovery, and a kick blocked), Bryson Guerrero (8 tackles and a fumble recovery), Jackson Easterling (6 tackles and a tackle for loss), Ben Harrell (5 tackles and a tackle for loss), McKenzie (2 tackles and a tackle for loss), Adam Blankinship (2 tackles), Alexis Mejia (1 tackle, 1 pass defended, and a tackle for loss), Hardy (1 tackle), and Cheatham (1 tackle and a caused fumble).
Next week, May makes the trek to No. 8 Jonesboro (7-1, 2-0), which had its district bye Friday night, in a battle for the District 14-A Division I championship.

Richland Springs 2, Brookesmith 0 (forfeit)
RICHLAND SPRINGS – The Brookesmith Mustangs forfeited their District 16-A Division II contest to the No. 9 Richland Springs Coyotes Friday night.
Next week, Brookesmith (1-7, 1-1) is scheduled to host No. 3 Cherokee (7-0, 2-0), which defeated Rochelle (6-3, 1-2) by a 70-20 count Friday night. Meanwhile, in a rescheduled affair, Richland Springs (6-1, 2-1) will now host Lohn (0-7, 0-2), which had its district bye this week, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Comanche 77, Dublin 7
COMANCHE – The Comanche Indians kept their unblemished District 5-3A Division II record intact Friday night as they pummeled the Dublin Lions, 77-7.
Comanche (7-1, 3-0) generated 652 yards of total offense, including 512 yards rushing.
Sawyer Wilkerson led the onslaught with 310 yards and four touchdowns on just 11 carries, an average of 28.5 yards per tote. Cayden Davis chipped in 78 yards and a touchdown, Cade Bauman tacked on 44 yards, Ezequiel Medrano finished with 43 yards and a score, Easton Gonzalez added 22 yards and quarterback Layden Welch rushed for 15 yards with a trip to the end zone.
Welch completed all four of his pass attempts for 140 yards with three touchdowns. Kyler Beaty finished with two grabs for 55 yards and a touchdown, J.J. Davis added a 53-yard scoring reception, and Miguel Martinez hauled in a 32-yard touchdown catch.
Davis led the defensive effort with 12 tackles against Dublin (2-6, 0-3), trailed by eight each from Gonzalez and Welch, and seven takedowns each from Israel Medrano, Cosme Gonzalez and Pierson Sorrells.
Next week, Comanche will hit the road to challenge Merkel (3-5, 2-1), which fell 50-7 to Jacksboro (5-3, 2-1) Friday night.

San Saba 41, Goldthwaite 12
GOLDTHWAITE – In the 105th “Battle of the River,” the San Saba Armadillos turned a 6-0 halftime lead into a comfortable 41-12 victory over the District 5-2A Division I rival Goldthwaite Eagles.
San Saba (6-3, 2-3) compiled 484 yards, with 329 coming on the ground and 155 through the air, and overcame three turnovers.
Ethan Gonzales rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns for the Armadillos, Zuri Herrera chipped in 74 yards and a touchdown and Tyler Johnson chipped in 69 yards rushing with a score on the ground.
Lance Taylor connected on 10 of 13 passes for 155 yards for two touchdowns – both to Johnson who caught five passes for 112 yards.
Defensive stalwarts were Herrera with 18 tackles, Jesus Betancourt with 13, Taylor with two interceptions, Skylar Romero with one pick, and Johnson and Winton Lackey both recovered fumbles.
Goldthwaite (0-8, 0-4) finished with 261 yards of total offense – 209 rushing and 52 passing – but turned the ball over six times. Both Eagle touchdowns were scored in the fourth quarter.
Luke Sanderson caught a 25-yard scoring toss from Cutter Campbell, who also rushed for a 5-yard score.
Campbell rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown and completed 3 of 14 passes for 52 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions. Carsyn Campbell added 71 yards on the ground and Rylan Wiedebusch chipped in a 43-yard carry. Collin Gardner added a 25-yard reception for Goldthwaite.
San Saba’s district bye falls next week while Goldthwaite heads to No. 5 Tolar (8-0, 4-0), fresh off a 59-0 victory over Bangs (5-3, 3-1).

Cross Plains 54, Hamlin 19
CROSS PLAINS – The Cross Plains Buffaloes snapped their two-game skid and earned their first District 6-2A Division II victory in resounding fashion, 54-19 over the Hamlin Pied Pipers Friday night.
Tied at 7 after one quarter, Cross Plains (6-2, 1-2) scored 33 points in the second period to seize advantage of the contest.
The Buffaloes manufactured 411 yards of total offense – 236 on the ground and 175 through the air.
Meanwhile, Hamlin (5-3, 1-2) finished with 256 yards – 213 passing and just 43 rushing on 30 carries. The Pied Pipers also turned the ball over four times.
Dusty Wyatt rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns for Cross Plains, Riley Conlee finished with 78 yards and a trip to the end zone, and Noah Moses chalked up 61 yards and a score.
Through the air, Kade Purvis was 8 of 10 for 175 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Ryan Reed caught four passes for 122 yards and scored twice, Asher Moses pulled down three receptions for 33 yards and Noah Moses caught a 20-yard pass.
Defensive standouts for the Buffaloes were Noah Moses with 11 tackles and one interception; Theron Albrecht with 11 tackles; Wyatt with seven tackles; Ryan Reed with six tackles and one interception; Tye McWalters with three tackles and a fumble recovery; and Colt Sanderson with one tackle and a fumble recovery.
Next week, Cross Plains welcomes Abilene TLCA (0-8, 0-3), which is coming off an 81-0 loss to Miles (7-2, 3-1).
