The following fishing reports are provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the week of October 19:
LAKE BROWNWOOD
SLOW. Water slightly stained; 71-74 degrees; 7.81 feet low. Bass are excellent to 5.32 pounds using topwater lures early and late in 1-5 feet of water on flats. Use square bill crankbaits, shaky heads, or glide baits around docks with brush 5-15 feet of water. Crappie to 1.25 pounds are good on minnows and jigs suspended under docks, and jigs on brush piles. White bass are good on crankbaits and jigs under the lights. Catfish are slow on cut bait
LAKE CISCO
GOOD. Water stained; 79 degrees; 7.76 feet low. Crappie and bass are biting on brush piles with minnows and worms. Channel catfish are good on live and cut perch in shallow water. Report by Jason Miller, Lake Cisco Rentals.
LAKE COLEMAN
FAIR. Slightly stained; 70 degrees; 5.55 feet low. Fishing patterns are similar, look for fish to move shallower chasing bait as the water temperature declines. Crappie are fair with jigs or minnows on brush piles. Hybrid striped bass are good on slabs moving quickly over the main lake chasing bait balls. Bass are fair on green pumpkin jigs, black and blue jigs, shad color swim jigs.
LAKE O.H. IVIE
GREAT. Water stained; 74 degrees; 22.54 feet low. White bass are good with live bait and crankbaits. Crappie good with jigs and minnows. Largemouth bass are slow to good. Catfish are good on prepared baits, cut bait and live bait. Report by Concho Park and Marina.
LAKE PROCTOR
SLOW. Water stained; 74 degrees; 8.65 feet low. Proctor catfish are biting great in 15-18 feet of water on cut or whole shad. Lots of bait to be found near the bank almost anywhere on the lake. Seeing larger fish in the shallows, but not getting many good bites in less than 7 feet of water. Report by Jeffery Sojourner, Sojourner Fishing LLC.
