The Brownwood Police Department issued the following press release Wednesday morning:
On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at approximately 4:40 a..m the Brownwood Police Department received a 911 call of a home invasion. The caller state that multiple subjects were attempting to enter the residence which was in the 1500 block of Ave A.
When officers arrived in the area, there were many people present and people yelling at each other. A gunshot victim was located at the scene. Officers were able to determine that the male victim, 35-year-old Codie James Ledlow of Brownwood sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. As of this writing, Ledlow was transported and released from Hendricks of Brownwood and transported to the Brown County Jail.
The scene was secured, and interviews and physical evidence were collected. The Brownwood Police Department Criminal Investigations Division was contacted, and detectives arrived on scene to assist.
Arrested for unrelated warrants/charges were:
- 54-year-old Michael Sean McAnally of Brownwood
- 22-year-old Alexander James Harris of Stephenville
- 28-year-old Stephen Cody Tackett of Early
- 35-year-old Codie James Ledlow of Brownwood
