According to sixmanfootball.com’s most recent rankings, the May Tigers have reclaimed their spot as the No. 1 team in the state Class A Division I.
The Tigers (5-0), who spent most of the 2021 season in the top spot, started the 2022 campaign at No. 3, dipped to No. 4 at one point, and were ranked No. 2 prior to last week’s 58-12 road win over Burnet Smoking for Jesus Christian.
May has also knocked off Jayton (58-12), Austin St. Stephens (77-46), Knox City (81-58), and Garden City (63-34).
The Tigers open their District 14-A Division I slate at 7:30 p.m. Friday as they welcome Evant (0-5) for homecoming. May is targeting a seventh straight district championship overall.
