The Brownwood JV Lions and Freshman Lions moved to 4-0 on the season with road victories over Glen Rose Thursday, while the Combined Team upped its mark to 3-1 after leaving Dublin with a win.
JV Lions 34, Glen Rose 20
GLEN ROSE – Noah Gonzalez rushed for more than 150 yards and a touchdown to help lead the JV Lions to their fourth consecutive victory to start the season.
Quarterback Braeden Stacks threw two touchdown passes to Kenyan McDowell, rushed for two more scores, and added a two-point conversion toss to Ross Strasner.
The defense of Weston Wolf, Jamareia Harlman, and Daylon McGee helped shut down the run up front. Zakk Zabecki and Gonzalez had multiple tackles at linebacker and the secondary of Strasner, McDowell, Jack Field, and Gray Stewardson came up with big plays on several occasions.

Freshman Lions 28, Glen Rose 0
GLEN ROSE – The Brownwood Freshman Lions wasted no time lighting up the scoreboard in their fourth straight win, as Robbie Robinson hurled a 46-yard touchdown to Grant Gray on the first possession, and Eliuth Valenciano booted the PAT for an immediate 7-0 lead.
The defense forced a three-and-out on Glen Rose’s first possession, and a blocked punt by Logan Flores set up the Lions at the Tiger 9. Levi Pearson scored on the next play and Valenciano’s extra point increased the advantage to 14-0.
Brownwood stretched its lead to 21-0 in the third period on a 8-yard scoring toss from Aiden Driskill to Carson Noe. Valenciano converted the extra point.
The Lions’ final touchdown was scored in the fourth period on a 9-yard run by Robinson, coupled with Valenciano’s PAT.
Defensive standouts included Flores (3 tackles, TFL, sack, punt block), Robinson (3 tackles), Driskill (3 tackles, TFL, punt block), Evan Escobar (3 tackles), Reese Bishop (3 tackles, fumble recovery), Aidan Packheiser (2 tackles, forced fumble), and Marvin Wilson (2 tackles, TFL).

Combined Team 48, Dublin 14
DUBLIN – The Brownwood Lions Combined Team notched their second victory in a row as quarterback Dallas Shumaker accounted for five touchdowns – three passing and two rushing.
Aidan Pena caught two touchdown passes and Stephen Rodriguez added a scoring reception, while Neveah Menefield and Preston Cook both rushed for touchdowns.
Leading the way defensively were Raul Eberhardt with a sack, Aidan Pena and Michael Herrada with interceptions, and Trevor Wallace, Treyvon Mitchell, and Rodriguez stood out as well.
