BLANKET – The Early Lady Horns cross country team finished first as a team at Wednesday’s Blanket Invitational, held at Creekbend Golf Course.
The Lady Horns’ first-place team effort was led by Madison Torrez (second overall), Preslee Richmond (fifth), Trinity Torrez (seventh), Brooke Miller (20th), and Steely Fielder (26th).
The JV Lady Horns also came in first in the team standings, sparked by performances from Gyselle Cruz (first), Adamari Ortega (second), Marissa Reedy (third), Mylea Williams (fourth), Caroline Welker (fifth), and Jodie Lykes (sixth).
Longhorns competing in the varsity boys portion of the meet were Aaron Bass (second), Will Prochaska (fifth), Calvin Clubb (sixth).
In JV boys action, Early’s Jayden Garcia placed first and Sam St. Ama was third.
Early will be back in action Sept. 23 at the Round Rock McNeil Invitational at Old Settlers Park, site of the state meet.
