Jackie Wayne Roberts, age 72, of Brownwood returned to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, and loved ones in his Heavenly home on Sunday, September 4, 2022.
Private Family Services for Jackie will be held at a later date per his request. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
Jackie was born on August 24, 1950, to J.W. and Greta Lee Roberts in Waurika, OK. He graduated from US Grant High School in 1968. After graduation, he married Judith Ann Wilkerson on December 21, 1968, in Oklahoma City, OK.
Jackie attended TSTC in Abilene and was certified as a machinist. He owned his own body shop for years, Jackie’s Custom Painting. He was an avid outdoorsman, and quite the craftsman skilled in many things including, knife-making, hand-carving, and archaeological endeavors. He could spot an arrowhead from a mile away and had collected many interesting artifacts. He wrote songs, sang, and played guitar for his family.
Jackie’s strongest passion though, was his teachings of and personal relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and sharing this love with family and friends. He loved God and his family with all his heart. He had many friends and touched his community with his passion and love.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Roberts of Brownwood; four children, Steven Roberts of San Antonio, Bobby Roberts of Brownwood, Leah Roberts of Brownwood, Aim’ee Teague and husband Travis of Austin; eleven grandchildren, Cory Roberts of Austin, Ashlyne Hallford and husband Brodie of Austin, Alan Roberts of Austin, Jordan Roberts and wife Dr. Megan Roberts of San Antonio, Chris Roberts of San Antonio, Sydney Roberts of San Antonio, Sadie Perez of Austin, Avery Baker of Oklahoma City, OK, Aidan Perez of Austin, Kade Perez of Brownwood, and Taylor Teague of Austin; and five great-grandchildren, Maddox, Mikayla, Kinsley, Braylee, and Carter. He is also survived by two brothers, Johnny Roberts and James Roberts; sister, Cindy Crawford; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Greta Roberts.
