
The Brownwood JV and Freshman Lions football teams each moved to 2-0 on the season, as they both recorded shutout over Marble Falls Thursday night at Gordon Wood Stadium.

JV Lions 34, Marble Falls 0
The Brownwood JV Lions dominated from start to finish in a resounding home victory, as Marble Falls struggled on both sides of the ball.
Brownwood started the scoring with a 45-yard bubble screen pass from Braeden Stack to Ross Strasner on the Lions’ initial possession.
Later in the first half, Noah Gonzalez found the end zone on a short carry, while Stacks connected with Gray Stewardson on a 75-yard touchdown pass just before halftime for a 20-0 advantage at the break, after a two-point run by Gonzalez.
The second half began with Ricky Vazquez stripping the ball from a Marble Falls running back and returning the fumble 40 yards for a touchdown.
The Lions capped the scoring with a 60-yard scoring toss from Stacks to Kenyan McDaniel, and Jaiden Gordon tacked on the two-point conversion. Stacks finished with 194 passing yards to go with his three touchdowns.
Other defensive standouts included Weston Wolf, Daylon McGee, and Jamariea Harlman up front, along with Gonzalez, Jack Field, Gary Wiedebush, and Stewardson.
Wolf also blocked a punt for the Lions.

Freshman Lions 19, Marble Falls 0
Following a scoreless first half, the Brownwood Freshman Lions reached the end zone three times in the final two quarters and kept Marble Falls off the scoreboard to remain undefeated.
Marble Falls fumbled the opening kick of the second half and two plays later quarterback Aiden Driskill scored on a 25-yard for a 6-0 lead.
Later in the quarter, Aaron Edmonds returned a punt 40 yards but the Lions were unable to cash in for points.
Marble Falls then bobbled a punt snap on the 1, where the Lions took over and Driskill scored on a 1-yard plunge. Eliuth Valenciano added PAT for a 13-0 Brownwood lead.
In the fourth period, the Lions capped the scoring with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Driskill to Jermiah Chacon for the final 19-point margin.
Defensive standouts included Reese Bishop with 10 tackles, including three for loss; Robbie Robinson with four tackles; Logan Flores with three tackles, including one for loss, with a fumble recovery; and Aidan Packheiser notched a tackle for loss and forced a fumble.

Comanche 20, Sophomore Lions (Combined Team) 8
COMANCHE – The Brownwood Sophomore Lions slipped to 1-1 on the season with Thursday’s road defeat.
Comanche led 12-0 at half and 20-0 early in the third quarter before Brownwod’s lone touchdown came on a 60-yard run from Neveah Menefield. Dallas Shumaker converted the two-point try for the final 12-point margin.
Defensive standouts included Zak Zabecki with four tackles, including two for loss; LaJon Bush and Elias Torres with four tackles apiece, Treyvon Mitchell with tackles and one for loss; Michael Herrada with two tackles and a forced fumble; and Hayden Mair with two tackles, a forced fumble and and a fumble recovery.
The Brownwood subvarsity teams will host Burnet next Thursday.
