VFW Post 3278 is hosting the Fadin’ Flames Cornhole Tournament on Sunday, Aug. 7 at its location at 2300 Stephen F. Austin. All proceeds will go toward Brown County volunteer fire departments.

Boards open at 10:30 a.m. and bags fly at 11 a.m., bring your own partner. There will be a $1,000 payout.

There will be three divisions – Novice, with a $30 entry free, Intermediate with a $40 entry fee, and Competitive with a $50 entry fee.

Fish plates will also be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at $10 a plate. From 5 to 7 p.m., barbecue plates will be available for $15 each.

Freshies by Alexis and Aliyah, and auction items will be on sale as well.
