The Bangs City Council held a Special Called Meeting Wednesday night, June 29, with all members present. Mayor Rick Phelps presided over the meeting.
The Council spent about an hour and a half in Executive Session over three items that were listed on the agenda dealing with pending on contemplated litigation. No action was taken on any of the items once back in open session.
The Council voted to approve security cameras for the Event Center and City Park. Citing recent and previous vandalism of the property, a total of eight cameras were purchased from a San Angelo firm which will install them in the near future. Cost of the camera project is $6,778.
The Council approved switching the Utility Billing to Fundview which will enable Bangs residents to pay their bill online.
There was discussion regarding fees to charge for usage of the city baseball fields. No action was taken until the cost of lighting the fields can be determined. The Council also wants to hear input from the City Parks Committee.
The Council also voted to approve a request from the surveyor of a County Road and property owned by the Bangs EDC, a project to determine the East city limit boundaries.
