Brownwood’s high temperature on Saturday afternoon reached 100 degrees at 2:35 pm and stayed at 100 through 6:55 pm, according to the National Weather Service observation at the Brownwood Regional Airport.
Sunday will be hot again but an afternoon cold front will make a brief dent in the heat for two or three days. Behind the front expect north to northeast wind of 15 to 25 mph Sunday evening into Monday. Temperatures by Monday morning should be in the mid to upper 60’s and, if we’re lucky, highs on Monday may hold in the upper 80’s. There is also a 30% chance for showers and thunderstorms Sunday night and Monday.
