The City of Brownwood posted the following on its Facebook page:
Sergeant Stephanie Morgan is retiring from the Brownwood Police Department after 18 years of distinguished service. Sergeant Morgan was hired as a police officer in 2004 after having served for two years as a Communications Officer.
She was promoted to Corporal in 2011 and promoted to Sergeant in 2015. Sergeant Morgan served as the Brownwood Police Department Field Training Coordinator from 2016 to 2018. She transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) in 2018.
She was named Officer of the Year in 2010. On October 15, 2018, Sergeant Morgan, and the CID, was nominated for a Commendation Bar for her work with the CID investigating a burglary at the Brownwood High School.
Sergeant Morgan has received numerous letters of commendation from Brownwood residents, fellow law enforcement officers, and district prosecutors for her outstanding service.
