EARLY – During Tuesday night’s meeting, the Early City Council approved entering into a land lease agreement with Solaris Oilfield Infrastructure.
Following an executive session to discuss the matter, Early City Administrator Tony Aaron said, “The City of Early tonight approved us entering into a further agreement with Solaris Oilfield Infrastructure. For the last couple of years they’ve been leasing some property from us at our wastewater treatment plant for additional storage and training, and they wanted to increase the space out there. The council gave me the authority tonight to go ahead and negotiate that lease agreement with them.”
The Early City Council also:
- Approved Ordinance 2022-03, amending Unified Development Code, Chapter 23, Articles 2, 8 and 10 relating to trailer sales and rentals
- Approved Ordinance 2022-04 to change the zoning designation from SF to GC for approximately 0.98 acres at 102 Oak Street.
- Approved Ordinance 2022-05 to change the zoning designation from SF to MH at 103 and 105 West Street.
- Approved Resolution 2022-R06, suspending the effective date of Oncor Electric Delivery Company’s requested rate change
- Approved Resolution 2022-R07, regarding the approval of subdivision plats for property located in the city limits of Early and its extraterritorial jurisdiction.
Aaron also provided an update on the Early Town Center Project.
“The Town Center Project is moving along great,” Aaron said. “The street should be finished in the next month or so, and we’re getting ready to pour curbs and gutters and sidewalks. We’re working on our street lighting, lamp post lighting, and the parking lot lighting. The pond will hopefully be able to go out for bid by July to start construction on that. The batting cages are in engineering and we’re waiting to get those back so we can start building that. And then the boardwalk, we had a really good meeting with our engineers and architects today. They did some artist renderings of those and we’re really excited to start letting those out to people because it’s just phenomenal what it’s going to look like. We’ll hopefully have construction documents ready in the next couple of months to start working on that.”
Aaron also stated that the Early MDD on Monday approved moving forward with preparing bid documents for selling property.
“We’ve got some interested people that want to buy property and start building so we’re going to start moving forward with that process,” Aaron said. “There’s really a lot going on.”
