Shirley was born to L.D. and Lena (Dollar) Walker on January 19, 1939, in Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated high school from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City, OK.
She married the love of her life, Jerry Roberts, on January 30, 1959, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They shared 59 wonderful years together and we know their reunion in Heaven was beautiful.
Shirley spent her life as a devoted wife to Jerry, mother to sons Randy and Jeff, and Nana to her grandchildren. She supported all of them with her whole heart and soul.
Shirley was a talented artist and crafter. Many of her paintings and beautiful handiwork grace the homes of her friends and family. She loved to work outside. She always had the most beautiful yard and landscaping. Sitting outside in the evenings with Jerry as they recapped the day on their ranch was one of her most precious times of the day.
Shirley leaves behind her 2 sons, Randy Roberts of Brownwood, Jeff Roberts and wife Diane of Brownwood; 1 grandson, Nick Powell and wife Ella of Denton; 2 granddaughters, Sydney Roberts of Abilene and Jordan Roberts of Brownwood; 1 great-grandson, Will Powell; and 1 brother, Don Walker and wife Jackie of Minco, OK. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents, LD and Lena Walker; and 2 sisters, Joann Kinslow and Carolyn Heartsill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the children and youth ministries of First United Methodist Church Brownwood (2500 11th Street, Brownwood, TX 76801) in Shirley’s memory.
