She was born Penelope Sue Smith on April 3, 1959, in Tulia, Texas to William Plezz Smith and Ethel Mae Bethany Smith. Penni grew up in California and Texas. She graduated from Coleman High School in 1977. Penni married Denver Lewis Fulbright on September 26, 1982, in Coleman. Penni then attended and graduated from Cisco Jr. College, obtaining her Licensed Vocational Nursing degree. She worked in acute care, home health, and long-term care for many years. Penni also ran “Penni’s Angel Babies” a small daycare in her home for a few years, but her true calling and passion was nursing. Penni loved being a nurse and took great care of all her patients. Her bright eyes and warm personality gave comfort to many patients and families.
Penni was a devoted wife, mother, and Nanna. Her best accomplishment was being a mother and Nanna to all her babies. Penni’s focus was teaching her children to be respectful and courteous to everyone. She was famous about the “Big C,” which all the kids stood in line. Penni loved her music and enjoyed dancing with her family and friends. She enjoyed serving her church and church family; and of course, Penni loved to go shopping and getting her nails done.
